CRC Evans plans to construct a new 90,000-sq-ft welding, coating and engineering facility in Burnley, England, as part of an expansion aimed at supporting pipeline, energy and critical infrastructure projects worldwide.
The company said the new site will serve as an international Centre of Excellence supporting operations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and South America. The facility will expand CRC Evans’ capacity to deliver specialty welding and coating services for complex infrastructure projects in global energy markets.
The Burnley location will also become the headquarters for the company’s Critical Infrastructure business stream and support projects across sectors including natural gas, renewables, nuclear, defense and aerospace.
Mauro Piasere, CEO of CRC Evans, said the expansion is designed to support growing demand across global infrastructure markets.
“This investment marks a decisive step in delivering our global growth strategy. Building on this momentum, our new Burnley site doubles our operational footprint, strengthens our leadership in specialty welding and coating, and establishes an international Centre of Excellence equipped to support the most demanding infrastructure markets worldwide.”
“Burnley has been part of our EMEAA story since 1988. Today, it becomes a critical platform for international expansion, responding to growth in our core markets and enabling diversification into new markets such as nuclear, aerospace, defense, renewables and critical infrastructure.”
The facility will consolidate engineering, manufacturing and compliance operations into a single site designed to meet strict regulatory and quality standards required for highly regulated industries such as nuclear and defense.
Steven Mackay, Managing Director for CRC Evans’ Critical Infrastructure Division, said the expanded capabilities will support projects requiring strict compliance and traceability standards.
“The scale and capability of Burnley significantly strengthens our position in regulated infrastructure markets such as nuclear, defense and aerospace. These sectors demand absolute assurance around compliance, traceability, and operational control.
“This investment creates the operational foundation to support sustained growth in critical infrastructure markets while providing our global clients with the highest standards of specialty welding and coating expertise.”
CRC Evans said the facility will also integrate digital quality and traceability systems, including its Data 360 platform, to support engineering oversight and project assurance for complex infrastructure developments worldwide.
The company operates in more than 100 countries and provides welding and coating services for major onshore and offshore energy infrastructure projects.
