Dutch gas company Gasunie and Belgian gas terminal operator Fluxys on Thursday said they would build a connection for the transport of hydrogen between the Netherlands and Belgium.

The connection between the port of Rotterdam and its industrial clusters and the Belgian ports of Antwerp and Ghent is expected to be realized by 2030, the companies said, largely by converting existing pipelines for natural gas.
