UMOE Advanced Composites receives second order from P2X Solutions for Finnish hydrogen project

UMOE Advanced Composites (UAC), a global supplier of large Type IV composite pressure vessels and transportation modules for hydrogen and other gases, has received a new order from existing customer P2X Solutions for three 45-foot high cube Multi-Element Gas Containers (MEGCs) for a Power-to-X hydrogen project in Finland.

The new order follows UAC’s 2025 delivery of 12 MEGCs for hydrogen and two MEGCs for e‑methane storage and transportation to P2X Solutions, a Finnish pioneer in green hydrogen and Power‑to‑X technology. All MEGCs supplied by UAC are used to transport hydrogen from Finland’s first industrial-scale green hydrogen production facility in Harjavalta to industrial customers.

“We are delighted to continue working with P2X Solutions and to provide infrastructure that supports hydrogen deployment in Finland” said Lars Erik Lunøe, CEO, UMOE Advanced Composites, “Our MEGCs balance performance, durability, and cost-efficiency, helping our customers reduce emissions and improve project economics,” he continued.

The Harjavalta facility started green hydrogen production last year and marks a milestone in Finland’s hydrogen economy and the further development of the European hydrogen market.

P2X Solutions is aiming to build several production plants of green hydrogen and synthetic fuels (e-methane, e-methanol and e-ammonia), aiming for a total of 1 GW of hydrogen production capacity over the next decade. Reliable and scalable hydrogen storage solutions are a critical enabler for these developments.
